How to Replace 2GR-FE Engine on Toyota Avalon & Camry?

The details are provided for replacing Toyota engine.Its for Avalon and Camry models.
Also the engine removal diagrams are provided.
Engine mounting bolts locations-3.5L (2GR-FE) engine diagram is also provided.

Go through complete details and diagram:----


  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions Section.
  2. Relieve the fuel system pressure.
  3. Drain the engine oil.
  4. Drain the cooling system.
  5. Drain the transaxle oil.
  6. Remove or disconnect the following:
    NOTE
    Matchmark the intermediate shaft and control valve shaft before removing.


    NOTE
    Leave the lines connected and securely hang the compressor.



    Negative battery cable
    Front wheel
    Engine under covers
    Right side fender apron seal
    Wiper link assembly
    Outer top cowl panel
    Battery
    Engine appearance cover
    Accessory drive belt
    Coolant overflow tank
    Right side engine moving control rod and bracket
    Air intake assembly
    Fuel supply hose
    Radiator hoses
    Transmission oil cooler hoses
    Heater hoses
    Upper relay block cover
    Right-side front door scuff plate trim
    Right-side side cowl trim
    Right-side lower instrument panel
    ECM wiring and body ground
    Transmission control cable
    Power steering hoses
    Front exhaust pipe assembly
    Halfshafts
    Lower control arms
    Torque converter bolts
    Intermediate steering shaft



    Alternator
    A/C compressor
  7. Attach the engine to a suitable lifting device.
  8. Remove the mounting bolts and nuts from the frame side rail plates and front suspension brace.
  9. Carefully remove the engine/transaxle assembly from the vehicle.
To install:

  1. Install the engine/transaxle assembly into the vehicle.
  2. Install the engine mounting bolts and nuts as follows:
    1. Bolts A and C: 63 ft. lbs. (85 Nm).
    2. Bolts B and D: 24 ft. lbs. (32 Nm).
  3. Install the A/C compressor. Tighten the mounting bolts in the sequence shown to 18 ft. lbs. (25 Nm).

  4. The remainder of the installation is the reverse order of removal.
  5. Refill the transaxle with oil to the correct level.
  6. Refill the cooling system to the correct level.
  7. Refill the engine with oil to the correct level.
  8. Start the engine and check for leaks.
  9. Check and adjust the alignment if necessary.
