How to Replace Condenser on 2008 Ford Taurus?

The procedure is similar for 2008 and 2009 Ford Taurus.

Removal & Installation Of Condenser.


With the vehicle in NEUTRAL position it on a hoist.
Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Evacuating The System.
Drain the engine coolant.
Remove the front bumper cover. Refer to Bumper Cover .
Releaser the upper radiator hose clamp at the radiator and disconnect the hose.
Remove the engine cooling fan.
Detach the 2 clips on each radiator bracket from the radiator support and position the radiator rearward.
Remove the 2 radiator brackets.
Remove the 2 condenser fitting nuts and disconnect the fittings.
Discard the O-ring seals and gasket seals.
Release the 2 transmission cooler line clamps and disconnect the lines from the condenser core.
Remove the 2 A/C condenser bolts.
Lift upward and detach the condenser core from the radiator.
Remove the condenser core.
To install, reverse the removal procedure.
Install new gasket seals and O-ring seals.
Tighten the 2 A/C condenser bolts to 53 inch lbs. (6 Nm).
Tighten the 2 condenser fitting nuts to 11 ft. lbs. (15 Nm).
Lubricate the refrigerant system with the correct amount of clean PAG oil. Refer to Charging The System.
Evacuate, leak test and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Charging The System.
Fill the transmission fluid level.
