How to Replace Engine Flywheel on Ford F series Trucks and Lincoln car models?


The procedure is similar for both ford and Lincoln car models:-----

The details are ford ford f series trucks and Lincoln mark LT car models.
For all engine models 4.2l,4.6l,5.4l,6.0l& 6.8l engine.
Flywheel
REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Procedure is mentioned below:-----

4.2L Engine
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the clutch. For additional information, refer to Clutch R&I in this section.
  3. Remove the bolts and the flywheel.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) in a criss-cross pattern.

4.6L, 5.4L & 6.8L Engines
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the clutch. For additional information, refer to Clutch R&I in this section.
  3. Remove the 8 bolts and the flywheel.
  4. To install, reverse the removal procedure. Tighten to 80 Nm (59 ft. lbs.) in the sequence shown.

6.0L Diesel Engine
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Remove the Transmission. For additional information, refer to Manual Transmission R&I in this section.
  3. Remove the clutch pressure plate and disc. For additional information, refer to Clutch Disc and Pressure Plate in this section.
  4. Remove the bolts. Install the guide studs.
  5. Remove the bolts.
  6. Remove the reinforcing ring and the flywheel and ring gear assembly.
  7. Remove the guide studs.

To install:
  1. Install the guide studs.
  2. Install the flywheel and ring gear assembly.
  3. Install the bolts.
  4. Remove the guide studs. Install and tighten the bolts to 93 Nm (69 ft. lbs.).
  5. Install the clutch disc and pressure plate.
  6. Install the transmission.
