POWER DOOR LOCKS Replacing On Mercedes Benz?

How to replace Mercedes Power door Locks.

Removal & Installation
Door Lock Motor
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Put the door glass to the lowered position.
  3. Remove the outer cover from the door handle; use a plastic wedge to prevent marring the trim. Remove the 2 screws securing the handle.
  4. If equipped with side airbags, unclip the airbag panel and remove the screw. Be careful when handling the panel; refer to the airbag precautions in this section.
  5. Remove the triangular trim piece covering the outside mirror mounting; again use the plastic wedge to do this.
  6. Carefully loosen the door panel by inserting the plastic wedge next to the clips securing the panel (refer to the illustration for clip locations).
  7. Lift the door panel up and out. Detach the cable from the door unlock handle and detach the lamp at the bottom of the panel. Check the clips and replace any that are damaged.

  8. Carefully peel back the liner enough to access the power lock through the hole; the liner must be resecured during installation.
  9. Detach the electrical connection, then remove the fasteners from the lock motor. Disengage the motor lock assembly from the door and cable.

  10. Installation is the reverse of removal.
Door Lock Switch
The door lock switch, power window switches and mirror control switches are integrated into one unit and can only be replaced as an entire unit.
  1. Before servicing the vehicle, refer to the Precautions section.
  2. Lift the armrest and remove the screws securing it. Remove the stowage box located under the armrest.
  3. Carefully pry the trim boot from the gearshift lever area of the center console. Use a plastic wedge to avoid marking the wood and plastic trim.
  4. Remove the screws securing the center console trim at the armrest area. Carefully slide back then lift the center console trim and detach the electrical connections.
  5. Remove the ashtray.
  6. Unclip the center console switch group.
  7. Installation is the reverse of removal.
