Replacing Multi-Function Combination Switches on Ford Vehicle?

Multi-Function (Combination) Switches replacing procedure is as follows:----

REMOVAL & INSTALLATION Details are as follows:---


CAUTION
The air bag system must be disarmed prior to service on or around any air bag component. The backup power supply must be disconnected to prevent accidental air bag deployment.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the upper and lower steering column shrouds.
  3. Remove the two self-tapping screws retaining the multifunction switch to the steering column tube.
  4. Remove the multifunction switch.
  5. Label and disconnect the electrical harnesses.

To install:
  1. Connect the electrical harnesses.
  2. Align the multifunction switch mounting holes with the corresponding holes in the steering column tube casting. Install the two self-tapping screws, making sure to start screws in the previously tapped holes. Tighten the screws to 17-26 ft. lbs. (2-3 Nm).
  3. Install the upper and lower steering column shrouds. Tighten the screws to 7-9 inch lbs. (0.7-1.1 Nm).
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
